The national movement of the Crimean Tatars addressed the Russian authorities, protesting against the decision of the Crimean authorities to erect the monument to I. Stalin as a part of “the Big Three” (together with F. Roosevelt and W. Churchill) in Yalta. Krym.Realii reports about that.

“We make a strong appeal to the leadership of the Russian Federation, if you really condemn the policy of crimes of the Stalin’s regime against entire nations and categorically refuse the criminal legacy, please, lay off this immoral decision of the Crimean authorities,” applied representatives of the Crimean Tatars.

The appeal is addressed to the president of Russia Vladimir Putin, the leadership of the State Duma, the Federation Council and the General Prosecutor office of the Russian Federation.

The representatives of the Crimea Tatar national movement consider the decision of the Crimean authorities as “a strong indication” of the neo-Stalinism revival and return to the times of terror and extrajudicial killing.” According to the opinion of the authors of the appeal, “this will lead to even bigger split in the Crimean society,” the document stresses.
