Today the representatives of the newly created Crimean Federal University conduct the illegal seizure of the rector’s office of Crimea State Medical University, final decision about annexation of which to the Federal higher education institution hasn’t been made yet. The member of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation from the representational power of “the Republic” of Crimea Sergey Tsekov informed about that, Kryminform reports.
According to him, the representatives of Crimea State Medical University got in touch with him and informed that officials, appointed by the rector of the Crimean Federal University Sergey Donich, were trying to seizure offices of the administration. “I am in Moscow right now. I was called by representatives of Crimea State Medical University and told that illegal seizure of the University, and, actually, the forceful removal of the present administration of the University from power and its replacement with the new administration that had been appointed by Sergey Donich was taking place,” Tsekov announced.
He considers such actions to be destructive and the ones that compromise the credibility of the Crimean and Federal authorities. Tsekov was surprised that the administration of the Crimean Federal University didn’t manage to build a dialog with the medical university staff.
“The successful higher educational institution of the universal importance is liquidated for Donich. Donich secretly, without asking the Crimea State Medical University staff in accordance with the Russian legislation, introduced the higher educational institution into Federal University. Factually, he failed everyone including the head of the republic, the Russian administration and keeps on disorienting them,” the senator thinks.
According to his words, the fight for independence of the medical university should be continued. “I am sure that Crimea State Medical University will be independent. “The Doniches” are all temporary but Crimea State Mecidal University is the higher educational institution with great traditions and a list of very influent graduates. I think that graduates will still have their say on it being united against this decision,” Tsekov concluded.
