In occupied Simferopol, emergency medical personnel are complaining about the wage cut by a third.
It should be noted that if ambulance drivers got 19-22 thousand rubles (6600-7600 hryvnas at the NBU exchange rate – editors’ note) at the beginning of the year, then the salary for April amounted only to 8-13 thousand rubles (2800-4500 hryvnas).
The Director of the Center of accident medicine and emergency medical care Sergey Astankin said that the basic pay of employees was increased by adding incentive payments, but there are no such payments that year.
“Last year incentive payments were paid due to the costs saved. In 2016, funding for emergency medical care was reduced by 200 million rubles. We need to reduce the staff and non-core services in order to have spare money that we could use for paying the wages,” Astankin said.
In turn, the Simferopol emergency medical staff are threatening to hold demonstrations and strikes.
